Pastor Pat is a graduate of Grand Rapids Baptist College. He is currently working on his Masters degree in Biblical Counseling.

He is a Certified Biblical Counselor with: 

• National Association of Nouthetic Counselors 
• International Association of Biblical Counselors.

He was called to be the fourth pastor of Emmanuel Baptist in 2000. He and his wife Dorry were married in 1978 and have four children.

He enjoys outdoor activities. He especially likes hunting with his dogs, Nellie and Deacon, fishing and golf. Pastor Pat also plays on the church softball team.

Pastor Pat's life verse is Galatians 2:20, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." 

His favorite Bible character besides Jesus is Elijah, because he was a great man of faith who still shows his humanness and dependence upon God.

Pastor Pat's messages focus on practical Bible teaching to help people deal with the issues of everyday life.

Pastor Pat offers Biblical counsel without the use of psychology in order to help troubled people.

He believes that the Scriptures are sufficient to meet the emotional and spiritual needs of all people.
